Another successful WBDC event in Chicago!

The Chicago-based Acara team had a wonderful time at the Women’s Business Development Center’s 25th Anniversary Entrepreneurial Woman’s Conference, held on September 14th.

The event hosted various workshops during the day and featured Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel as the keynote speaker during lunch.  His honor stressed the need to cultivate job growth through safe streets, a focus on education, investment in infrastructure, and building a fair environment for small businesses and women-owned businesses to compete for opportunities.

Michael LoPresti, Superior’s regional branch manager, remarked “It was a great event! Very inspiring to hear about the drive and dedication that many women business owners have and how they have built up their operations to great levels.”

Premier brands such as Grainger, CDW, UPS, Kraft Foods, Walgreens, Southwest Airlines, and Ernst and Young were on hand to support the organization and network with fellow members.

There were also two big winners!  Overture’s Kristen Richardson won the gift basket raffle worth over $150 and Superior won the opportunity to have dinner and networking time with Hedy Ratner, the Co-President and Co-Founder of the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC), and Terry Savage, the Chicago Sun-Times financial columnist and bestselling author of “The Savage Truth on Money” and president of Terry Savage Productions, Ltd.

All told, it was a great event and a successful day for the Superior team.  If you weren’t able to make it, but want to discuss how Superior can help your business, please contact Michael LoPresti at 847.925.0423 or mailto:loprestim@superior-sdc.com.
